Ifeoma Nwakoby is a Professor of Banking and Finance at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (Enugu Campus) and Coordinator of the Executive Master’s degree program of the UNN Business School. Professor Nwakoby teaches subjects including banking methods, processes and practice, monetary theory and practice, international business finance, financial intermediation, and micro and small business financing. She previously worked as a Customer Service Agent with Menzies Aviation Plc, UK, and as an Audit Senior with Akintola Williams Deloitte in Nigeria.

She has published in international and national journals such as the Asian Economic Review, African Journal of Business and Economic Development, and the International Journal of Financial Research on such topics as financial deepening in African countries, unemployment and job creation, and the impact of oil price shocks on sectoral returns in the Nigerian stock market.

Professor Nwakoby obtained a Ph.D. in Banking and Finance at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, the M.Sc. in Finance and Business Management from the University of Bedfordshire, UK, the MBA from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Jos.
